ABOUT DTSC

DTSC is a fifth-generation family farm owned by Dale and Natalie Thacker along with their sons Kyle and Gavin and daughter Brianne.  Dale was formerly one of the three partners in George Thacker Sons, alongside his brothers Lynn and Jim.

 

George Thacker Sons evolved from a family farm established in 1919 and has been a leader in the essential oil industry for nearly 40 years.  GTS designed and built a PLC-based automated distillation control system that provided unparalleled quality control in the industry. This system has been reengineered and is currently used by DTSC.

 

In January 2007, the GTS partnership dissolved, and Dale Thacker Specialty Crops and Lynn Thacker Ag Corp purchased the company.  This move was to incorporate the next generation and facilitate future growth.

Our farm and processing facility are located in Bow Island, Alberta.  This Southern Alberta location boasts long, sunny hours and cool evenings during the growing season, creating ideal conditions for producing premium-quality essential oils. Our fields are irrigated with water sourced from the Rocky Mountains west of our location.

DTSC employs a full-time agronomist, Gordon Reynolds, a certified crop advisor with over 30 years of experience in crop production.  Gordon is responsible for monitoring crop growth and irrigation, and his extensive knowledge of agriculture ensures the continued production of high-quality crops. 

 

DTSC also incorporates precision farming practices, utilizing state-of-the-art GPS and documentation programs for precise record-keeping.  As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, we are constantly exploring ways to minimize our environmental impact.
